Would like to take a day trip from Philadelphia to Atlantic city and return using public transportation. Would appreciate recommendations. Thank you Consider one of the many excursion tour bus trips to Atlantic City available in Phila. Most will take you right to the door of one of the casinos, you may even get $10.00 - $20.00 in meal vouchers or to play with in the casino. Plus, it isn't written in stone that you have to spend all your time at the casino. You can take in a show, walk the boardwalk or just sit on the beach. Some casino tour buses can be very deluxe with personal televisions, refreshments, climate control and comfortable lavatories on board. If I had a choice between public transportation and a casino bus the casino bus would win hands down. -- ________ To email me, Edit "xt" from my email address. Brian M. Philadelphia to Atlantic City
New Jersey Transit has regular buses to AC from the Philadelphia bus
terminal (the Greyhound terminal on Filbert Street, directly across from the Market East SEPTA station). I'm not sure of the cost, but you can find it on the NJT Web site (probably cheap, as NJ subsidizes a lot of their transportation pretty well). There are also buses to other shore towns, like Ocean City. Or, as the other poster suggested, the casino bus trips are usually good deals. Often you'll get meal vouchers or $$ to spend at the casinos. Would like to take a day trip from Philadelphia to Atlantic city and return using public transportation. Would appreciate recommendations. |

The suggestion to go on a bus tour is probably the better option though. Just do a web search and you can find lots of info on this subject. There are numerous privately operated tour companies that run daily bus tours from points in Philadelphia to any of the various casino hotels in Atlantic City where you get coupons for free meals, a voucher for $5 in gaming chips, etc. so the cost adds up to almost zero. |
