Default Getting from the airport to the cruise in Ft. Lauderdale.

Hey all

Anyone tell me what the best way to get from the airport to the
cruiseport in Ft. Lauderdale is. We are booked on the Coral Princess to
the Panama Canal next April and will be renting a car, so we can have a
way to get around Ft. Lauderdale for the few days we will be there
before our cruise. Is there public transportations? Someone I thought
one time on this group said that Budget or someone offers service, but
I can not find anything about. Would the cruiselines transportation be
the best route.?

Bill,

When the OP states the following, "We are booked on the Coral Princess to
the Panama Canal next April and will be renting a car, so we can have a
way to get around Ft. Lauderdale for the few days we will be there
before our cruise.", your answer, although well intentioned, isn't a lot of
help.

Just grab a taxi. The port is only about 10 minutes away and cost about
$10.0-$15.00

The majority of the major rental companies are now located on site at the
airport, which is only a 10 minute drive to the pier.

Rent your vehicle, and on embarkation day drop your luggage at the pier,
return the car, and they'll shuttle you back to the port free.

We've always found this the most painless thing to do.

Thanks Dick! Your response to me while well intentioned wasn't a lot of
help either.

Thanks Ray for correcting my response to the OP. Next time I should read
slower. :-)

Hey Ray

Just letting you know that Budget told us last year that they
discontinued that service. When returning from the cruise I saw many of
the other majors offering shuttle from Port Everglades to the airport.
We ended up using a cab both ways. I would double check with the rental
car firm before making a reservation just to make sure.

A friendly request, Michael, for those of us who do NOT use Google.

When replying to a note that we cannot see, could you "cut and paste" at
least a portion of it so the rest of know what you are talking about.

Thanks.
