Cabo San Lucas is a fine vacation destination. ALAS! it can be TOTALLY
AND COMPLETELY ruined if you are not alert to an AMERICAN PREDATOR
WHICH CAN STRIKE WITHOUT WARNING: THE SMOOTH TALKER TIME SHARE OR
VACATION SITE SELLER.

You may be saying to yourself: "No, not me I am too smart. I always say
no." But you would be fooling yourself! Read on to see what happens
upon your arrival at the San Lucas Airport.

As soon as you arrive at the airport and especially if you have
purchased a vacation package to some of the fine hotels, you will be
greeted by a helpful person who claims to be (and perhaps is) welcoming
you and who will arrange for you transportation to the hotel. You are
glad at this point since you just went through customs, you are a bit
confused by the new surroundings, the plane trip, etc. You show your
vacation package papers to this nice person and BOOM! you are
imediately taken to a counter with two beatiful girls smiling telling
you to choose at least four wonderful activities in Cabo. What will it
be? you are shown a list of a dozen or more activities and four are
free!! BUT you MUSt CHOOSE NOW! snorkeling? Cruise dining? a SPA
treatment? Sailing? After dusk Cruise?? YOu are Dizzi.. your wife
wants this and that, finally you choose four activities which would
have cost you 300 dollars but now they are free and you think this is
part of the vacation package you got. Well you are happy now, but there
is a small thing...They ask you $40.00 dollars to make this
reservation. But not to worry this $40.0 will be returned to you
tomorrow morning in a free breakfast and a tour of a new hotel just
opening very close to your hotel... You give them the $40.00
what the heck, you are tired, the bus waiting outside might leave, the
baggage handler helping you is tired of waiting etc. etc.

GUESS WHAT? YOU HAVE JUST SIGNED IN TO A ONE ON ONE SELLING SESSION
WITH THE TIME SHARE PREDATOR.

The next morning you will be taken via free taxi to the JAWS of the
PREDATOR alone! You and your wife or girl friend etc. will be facing a
cold calculating PREDATOR staring you in the face, asking you how much
money you make in the USA. He will take you up and down dark corridors
under construction showing you various accomodations no bigger than a
hotel room, but what a view! etc.
The end result is a pitch for you to give him 38 THOSAND DOLLARS,
because it "makes sense" and besides you will make 90 thousand in 30
years etc.

Well now you are mad, your wife is mad, some wives think this is a
wonderful deal and now you are an idiot for not taking it. The PREDATOR
is young, looks like a movie star, is a fellow american etc. yu can
understand him etc. Wives fall for this...you are now an idiot....OR
you start making calculations, how much for maintenance? how much do I
pay every month? how long? Do I really own any thing?? Your vacation
has turned into an aggravating Business trip which you are wholly
unprepared. YOU DONT GAVE THE FACTS TO MAKE A DECISION and the predator
keeps pushing.


iF YOU ARE NOT TEKEN IN you are quickly shoved out to an office that
will provide you some coupons for the "activities you selected" but not
before passing a gauntlet of other time share vendors which will offer
similar time shares next to golf courses, next to shopping etc etc.

If you survive this you are booted out finally far from your hotel, all
flustered, sweaty and angry, your wife barking at you for being such an
idiot, the free breakfast you had curdled in your stomach, and now you
have no transportation to get back to your hotel....YOU HAVE WASTED THE
FIRST DAY OF YOUR VACATION and the image of the PREDATOR will be with
you the rest of your trip.
YOU STARTED THE VACATION WITH THE WRONG FOOT.

This mind control works because you are tired, your defenses are down
since you are on vacation thinking you will get the royal treatment,
you can not understand the language, the surroundings are new etc. For
more effect they do this to you as the very first activity after you
arrive counting on jet lag effect on your brain etc. It is really
shameful; it can wreck your entire vacation.


A variation of this is HORROR OF HORRORS! done by your own hotel.

AFTER CHECKING IN YOU WILL BE TAKEN OR DIRECTED TO THE ACTIVITY
PLANNING COUNTER WHERE THE SAME HORRIBLE SCENARIO NOW WILL PROCEED
OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED BY YOUR HOTEL.

steps to avoid this:

1. DONT GIVE MONEY especially if they tell you it will be returned to
you. ( They know that you will show up to claim your money)

2. TELL THEM " NO PRESENTATION" " NO PRESENTATION" Meaning no vacation
site or time share presentation. They avoid the term Time SHARE" now
so beware. They may call it vacation home...

3. Sign up for specific activities directly to the activity providers.
And pay for them. A Discount usually means attending a "presentation" A
ONE ON ONE SELLING DUEL.

4. First things first. Do not rush or be rushed into making quick
decisions. First check in. Go to your room. Shower. Take a nap. Go to
the bar. Talk to some people. ASk them what do they recomend as far as
tours and activities....

5. AVOID THE all terrain vehicle dessert tour. The tour with a four
wheel motorcicle. It is very dangerous, an ambulance stands by, it
destroys the fragile plants of the dessert which is now littered by
thousands of half filled bottles of plastic bottles. Besides it will
fill your lungs with dessert dust; a fitting punishment from the god of
the dessert, and you will spend coughing the glass like dessert
particles and goat dung dust the rest of your trip!! BRONCHITIS IS ALSO
LIKELY. AND YOU MAY BE SICK FOR WEEKS!
