Default Reservations for TGV and TER trains.

Can I make a reservation for these French trains up to departure time?

I will be travelling between Lyon- Dijon - Paris and am not sure which
trains I will take.

Thanks

I have made a reservation 2 minutes before departure, and run for a
TGV train at Paris' Gare de L'Est and made it on time. It was EUR3 per
person for the reservation if you have a train pass last year. There
is no surcharge if you are buying a full price ticket.

The simple answer is yes. The slightly less simple answer is, only
if
there are available seats. And in there lies the rub, TGV trains can
be
popular and reserved seats disappear quickly. For that reason, when
I did something similar to this, I purchased first class tickets (a
multi
day, multi country pass) so that I would have a better chance of
finding
a seat at the last minute. Paid off hansomly as well when we missed
on train and had to catch the "last train" that day out of Paris.
Second
class was full, but First Class had available seats.
