If I were to spend a day around Apeldoorn, travelling by public
transport, should I attempt to see Het Loo palace and its attractions
and also Kröller-Müller Museum in The National Park De Hoge Veluwe
and its attractions? Or is this just being stupid? Should I
concentrate on just one for that day, with perhaps some time for
Apeldoorn itself? If so, which one?

Derek

I think you can do both. The Kroller-Muller isn't far from town, and
unless you want to hike or bike while you're there, you can see it in a
morning easily. The park itself is pretty "uneventful."

The bus between Hoge Veluwe and Apeldoorn runs hourly (departs 49
minutes past the hour), so you can leave that open and decide on the
spot.

Depends on what you like and are interested in. I enjoyed Het Loo
immensely.

It shouldn't take an entire day to tour it, though if there is a special
exhibition on display when you're visiting which you'd like to also take in,
allow an hour or two more for your visit, and don't hesitate to stop at the
small cafe on the grounds for a snack or light meal. When I was there a
couple of years ago, the food was tasty, filling and not outrageously
priced.

Happy traveling,
Livadia
