Default Royal Solaris in Cancun

Does anyone have any trip reports, preferebly with pictures of this resort?
Also, has anyone reserved a balcony room and then not received it when they got
there? If so, did they reduce your fare? Does anyone know if all there rooms
are either ocenview and lagoon view; I want to stay in the Caribe tower. Is it
true that they don't offer bottled water at the resort? Are there ice machines,
so that we can bring a cooler, buy a few sodas and brng to the room since
there are no refridgerators. Finally, I have allergies and sinus condition and
usually reuire a room to be very cool, is this possible to achieve?

Thanks,
Karen

There is a lot of information on this resort. Your best bet is to
check out www.tripadvisor.com and do a search for this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel in November 2002. It was ok. We had the all
inclusive option. I didn't see any ice cube machines
anywhere....remember, this IS MEXICO. From my experience and many
others that I have talked to and after analyzing the reviews on
tripadvisor, having to change rooms is common place. Not getting what
you "exactly" want is also common. When we booked, we had requested
an ocean view but our agent clearly indicated it was NOT guaranteed.
We did get one, but we did have to change rooms because we were in a
very very very noisy part of the main tower situated on top of an AC
unit vent. We also had problems with the AC unit in both the Caribe
tower after getting a room there several days later.

You can't buy cans of Pepsi or hotel at the hotel. Again, this is
Mexico. If you want pop, just get it downstairs, the snack bar is
open 24 hours for pop. It's cheaper than buying it in town or lugging
it with you from home.

For pics, check out www.webshots.com and do a search for Royal
Solaris. Yes, stay at the Caribe tower. Also, please post your
experiences here when you return back from your holiday.
