Round trip fares in India?
Is it true that in India there is no round-trip or point-to-point fare,
but whatever all the individual flight segments add up to? |

Of course, you checked web sites of the likes of SpiceJet, Jet Airways, Indian Airlines, Air Deccan, Air Sahara, et al, right? So you could see that they display options like "one way" and "round trip" when booking a flight? -- dgs |

I suspect that he was asking if there is any discount for a round trip fare or is it simply the sum of the one way fares? The options that you mention could be there simply for booking convenience. |

Correct. The situations I encountered in the past: Round trip was just two one-way trips added up. Connections worked the same way: If there is no direct flight from A to B, but go from A to a hub H then on to B, the fare was just the sum of A-H and H-B fares. I don't know if this has changed. I would love to hear from someone who knows the recent situation in Indian air travel. |

That makes sense. Someone giving you rock bottom prices doesn't have room to offer any other deals. However, in India even "majors" whose prices are not all that low tend to do so. |
