New Zealand - Auckland - Wellington Train To Be Axed
[Default] On Tue, 25 Jul 2006 11:03:46 -0500,
.. offered the following words of wisdom: The only train service operating between Auckland and Wellington is being axed. Toll says the Overlander service has been making a substantial loss for many years and it cannot keep it going. The final train will run on Saturday September 30. http://xtramsn.co.nz/news/0,,11964-6088477,00.html NZ will be the only country in the English speaking world (and beyond) NOT to have a train service between it's major cities. Oh well ... just so there's enough money left over for more handouts around election time. -- A: Dunno, maybe it's because they're stupid. Q: Why do some people top-post? A: Because they are REALLY STUPID! Q: Why do some people cross-post? |

Really? If you know of any I will stand corrected. Unless you want to count small island nations that don't have any major cities, such as Tonga and Tobago. Off the top of my head here are a few the countries that do: UK Scotland Ireland Mainland USA Canada Australia India Pakistan Others places include: Most, if not all, of Europe Russia and most of the former USSR Much of Asia (including China and Japan) Mexico Central America South America and so on ... -- A: Dunno, maybe it's because they're stupid.
