ferries to Alexandria

I am looking to travel to alexandria overland either late spring may/
june or in the Autum. Are there any ferries crossing from southern
Europe ? I have found various references to services but they all seem
very old. any other ideas for getting there overland would be
aprechiated

Most of what I have found on the web is no more useful than that comment.
Bob Cromwell's page on Turkey says there's a ferry from Antalya with "no
well-defined schedule" - if there's anywhere on the Mediterranean coast
that would need a ferry service to Egypt that must be it, so I'd follow
that lead up.

There are no international trains from Egypt, but buses will get you to
Libya; there's a ferry to Jordan and a Nile steamer from Aswan to Sudan.
There are currently NO passenger ferries between Egypt and anywhere in
Europe, as the services from Greece via Israel were all suspended in 2001.
