Default Check Directly with Hotel to Ensure that Reservations from TravelSelling Sites are Received

My sister-in-law and I booked hotel rooms in Reno this past New Years
weekend through "http://tripres.com". For some reason, I thought I
should check with the hotel in advance to see if my reservation was
received. It was not. They said something about "faxing it again," and a
couple of hours later I checked with the hotel and they had the
reservation. I told my sister-in-law to check as well, and they also had
not sent her reservation to the hotel, mumbling something about a
problem with faxing.

As to why I used the tripres.com site, it was half the price of going
directly to the hotel (who had no interest in meeting the price of the
reseller), or through Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, etc.

Did they say why they didn't have your reservation the 1st time from
the site?

Yes, the hotel said they didn't have it. Shortly after I called the
wholesaler, who said they were "re-faxing it," the hotel said they got it.
