Are laptops permitted as carry ons for domestic US flights? If not, what

That seems to have disappeared in the days of the TSA, in my experience. All they've cared to do is scan mine. |

Yes, they're permitted. They must be removed from your carry
on and x-rayed separately. They're often also swabbed for explosives residue. This involves security wiping your laptop with a small cloth and then placing the cloth in an explosives 'sniffer.' Whole exercise takes maybe 30 seconds, 60 seconds if they do the handles of your laptop bag too. Cheers, Geoff Glave Vancouver, Canada |
