Default Carnival Pride Cat. 1A question

I booked a Cat 1a - room 1249 on the Carnival Pride because it had the
best single supplement price. Most of what I've read indicated that
the beds were side by side but the Carnival web site says they're
upper-lower bunk beds. Any of you had first hand experience with this
catagory or can give me a more definite answer. I'm not too fond of
the upper-lower idea as the room/cruise is a birthday present for my 80
year old mother-in-law!!!

On the Pride and other Spirit class ships the beds are side by side.
The 1a's with upper-lower bunks do exist on other Carnival ships.

We had Cat. 1A, 1249 on the Miracle and it was very nice. Have them put
the beds together for her. It is a nice location convenient to
everything with easy elevator access and disembarking in ports.

On both the Spirit and the Pride my 1A had two on the floor. I had them made
into a queen with a single sheet both times.

They said U/L, but they were not.

On the Victory we booked one for my kids. They were upper/lower, but a nicer
cabin than the 4A we had otherwise.
