Bidding on a ticket? Bidding on your vacation time!
gambling is a tax on the stupid
bidding is gambling priceline markets the impulse buyer where expedia markets logical shopper bid war anyone? supply and demand anyone? Socialistic vs Consumeristic Its good to see a new market approach to on line travel because competition keeps cost down and creates new products and services But airlines determine a base rate of a ticket meaning priceline needs to make a cut somewhere meaning you would always ever over pay Or someone will pay and high and some one will pay low Again you can not control the supply and demand only the markets can If people are willing to pay the a travel agent, online booking service will charge that exact amount (airlines determine the initial cost no airline will sell under market value) That is why airline costs fluxuate all the time I have yet to see priceline match expedia costs |
