If you speak to them in the same way. Each word distinct and a pause
between each one, you'll find your problem just about disappears.

It's not his problem, it's their problem. They are the ones who are not
fluent.

Well yes.

But he's the one with a problem...

They're busy earning about $400 a month and happy to get it.

If you want better service you have to pay for it, and people won't...

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.

What the hell is a TOEIC?

Got Google?

Yep.

No motivation to use for this sort of low level rubbish.

Engaging Anthony ("Mxsmanic") in these long-winded OT diatribes
certainly meets the criteria for low level rubbish, yes.

I suspect this may be what used to be known as TOEFL [Test of English as
a Foreign Language], an acronym that would have been pretty well known
among academics and anyone involved with students coming to American
universities from overseas.

If so, I suspect the change in nomenclature was a matter of political
correctness.

Gosh, there are some really nasty people onhere!!!!

Yeah. It's going to be really funny in about 30 or 40 years, when American
pilots on international routes are told that they either have to learn to
speak fluent Chinese, or else give up their licenses.

They're going to have to learn what it's like! HA HA!

No, they are spread around the world. Most Indians are not usefully
fluent in
English.

You must tell us all about your personal experiences in India.

Your suspicion is incorrect. The TOEFL is a different test.

If so, I suspect the change in nomenclature was a matter of political
correctness.

See above.

The TOEIC is business-oriented; the TOEFL is oriented towards academia.

How many native Brits & Americans could pass such a test?

Heh. Good question, but buggered if I know.

The sample questions I've seen would indicate it's not terribly
difficult, but there are plenty of native Brits, Yanks, and Canucks
who are terrible at taking tests, even easy ones in their supposed
native language.
