Sydney to Melbourne +Airports
The quickest way is flying (around 1hr 30 mins).
You can do it by bus or train, but it takes much more longer around 10 hrs by train. Train info: http://www.countrylink.info/ Cheap airfa http://www.virginblue.com.au/ or check out Qantas http://www.qantas.com.au/ . The airfare sometimes cost a lot cheaper than bus/train. Book early and look for special. "mo" nospam wrote in message ... How many airports are there in each of the above cities? And whats the quicket way to get from Sydney to Aus? Is it possible by train? Whats the travel time and the avg cost? Cheers! |

Looks like its only 35 to 40 £ by air Is it possible to just turn up to the airport on the day and buy tickets (sydney -- melbourne) rather than buy them in advance? or are they usually booked up (meaning i have to book early myself!) |

It's definitely possible, provided you choose an off-peak time. It's also usually much more expensive because you get no discounts of any sort. Advance booking is usually cheaper. If you need the flexibility to change flights or booking times, make sure that is possible with your booking. That usually costs a bit more than the rock-bottom prices with inflexible rules. Cheers Alan PS How are you getting here? you may be able to extend an international ticket with a positioning leg for a lesser cost. or are they usually booked up (meaning i have to book early myself!) |

Ideally we want a ticket that goes UK to Sydney (start journey) Syd to Melbourne (a few weeks into journey) Melbourne to the UK (end of journey) Lot's of flights by different carriers go Europe - Asia - Sydney - Melbourne - Asia - Europe. So get on of theses tickets Europe - Melbourne and stop over in Sydney for a while. And when you are not sure about the carrier take one of the asian (Singapoore, Malaysian or Emirates) Niels |
