East Coast U.S. to South Africa: Halfway

I don't think I could tolerate a 24 hour flight. What cities in Europe
are about halfway between Boston and South Africa? I'd like to relax
for a day or two in a cheap hotel. Would that point be beyond Europe?

There are direct flights to Jo'burg from at least FRA, LHR,
LIS and MAD - all about 11 hrs.

Cheapest hotel would probably be MAD or LIS.
