How to spend 4 days in Colorado in early September?

I'm thinking about Rocky Mountain National Park and/or the Summit County
area (maybe stay in Breckenridge). Do you think I should spend all 4 days
in one place, or can I do a couple days in RMNP and then a couple days in
Summit County?

I would recommend that you should explore the wilderness area of the rocky mountains which offers some beautiful mountain vistas which just makes the entire experience more memorable. In addition to that you can also opt for adventure activities that are offered like horse trail rides, fishing, Camping, hunting and much more. Surrounding the rocky Mountains there are many campgrounds, and parks which also offer overnight camping for a more wold experience. I would recommend Moraine Park which provides the classic Colorado mountain personality, in its primitive form.
