Default Mixed Dorms--- will the hostel arrange the room based on gender?

I find out most of the hostels are mixed Dorm. Will the hostel
separate the genders in different rooms? If I want to sleep in the
female dorm, should I avoid mixed dorm hostels?

When do the bandages come off your sex change...g

Mixed means male and female together in the same room; female or male
rooms means just that... Why do you think they will allow you in a
female dorm room, Charlie???

Should you avoid a mixed room; I'll let you know personal opinion in a
few months; but I would expect better overall behaviors in mixed
rooms...

I assume you are female. If you want to sleep in the female dorm, then you
will have to find hostels where that exists, yes. I am not sure what you are
really asking.

Some hostels have both mixed and segregated dorms. Whether you'll get your
pick depends on the available space, I suppose.

I think you must contact the hostel about this, since there semm to be
no common rules. The hostel where the kids went with a group from
their school here in Germany did not even have separate shower rooms
for boys and girls anymore.

Look at different hostels on the web (www.bugeurope.com is a good site for
lists) and see what they offer.
If it is important for you to be in a single-sex dorm, reserve a place in
advance.
