HOTELS IN CAIRO
Hi,
We will be in Egypt in late January. We want to spend 4 or 5 days in Cairo in the area where most of the tourist sites are. Would appreciate hotel recommendations - just need a clean room with private bath and good food but nothing fancy. Possibly a 3 star although I realize you can't count on the star system in Egypt. Is the Cosmopolitan close to the sites? Pat |

Is the Cosmopolitan close to the sites? Pat Carlton was just fine with me, its right in the center. Probably on the lower side of your requirements, but very good value for money, just choose the better types of room, VERY high roof and also a nice roof top terrace. /Anders -- Remove the obvious part before replying by mail please! |

And, although it is in the middle of the centre of Cairo, it is reasonable quiet at night, as long as you take a room on the left side of the entrance (more or less). About it being close to the sites; this depends on what you mean by that, like I said, it's in the middle of town, and also close to a very good restaurant, Felfellah. Hope you enjoy your stay, if you would like to have any other information, just ask. Regards, John. |
