Default MIA 747 Altitude Question

I spend a lot of time in Hollywood, Florida and looking over the ocean I
often see a 747 descending into the MIA traffic pattern. Their size is very
evident even at the distance from me. I was wondering if anyone knew exactly
how far offshore and what is the altitude of a jet coming down the coast to
enter the MIA traffic pattern? I know they have to be a few miles offshore
because of FLL.

This NG has really evaperated. Had that been posted two years ago, an answer
would have been in a few hours at most.

Ok, I start with saying that I'm no expert and I don't remember whether I
was on this ng two years ago. Anyway... perhaps this pdf-file could give you
some answers and show you the 10 nm radius aswell. The chart says 3000 ft to
intercept the glidescope for runway 27. I read on the page of Iberia that
they fly between 3000 and 4000 ft on approach to runway 9.

Hope it helps?
