Priceline... extension of car rental?
Has anyone kept a car for more than the time period you paid for via
Priceline? I was thinking of adding an extra day to my rental but had already completed the rental on Priceline. Is there a possibility of adding the extra day at the counter before picking up the car? What if I were to just keep the car for an extra day? Would there be an extra fee on top of the then chosen daily rate? I understand the cost of the extra day wouldn't be the amount that I bid on at Priceline... (thought I wish it were.) Any thoughts would be helpful. |

Any thoughts would be helpful. I'd make the booking then contact the company you get it with. If in doubt - book for the longer period; the rates are low enough to make the extra day cost trivial. I was unsure when I booked mine for 12 nights via Priceline; the booking was with Avis. I emailed the company and asked whether they would honour the $22 pd rate if I extended; unfortunately the response was along the lines of "ask us when you pick up the car". I actually returned the car one night early, because it was more convenient to use the hotel shuttle next morning than return the car then - but I didn't expect any discount. Theoretically I could have claimed the $9 daily insurance back (but not the $22 Priceline charge) - but hardly worth the effort.
