Default upgrading single entry schengen visa to multiple entry

Hi,
I have been issued a single entry visa from the embassy of Sweden
in India . The problem with this visa is that i can't leave schengen
area more than once . In case i wan't to travel a Non-Schengen country
during my stay in Sweden , could my visa be upgraded to multiple entry
in Sweden itself?
Please reply to the message soon as i have to check other options if
this is not possible

No, this is usually not possible.

You should have requested for a multiple entry in the first place. Most
Schengen area embassies will give you a multiple entry visa for the
visit period requested only without hassle, if you tell them that you
need to leave the area and return on the short term. To get a multiple
entry you need to demonstrate why you require it with the necessary
documentation.

Greetings from your neighbour in Sri Lanka.

Actually , it happened by mistake.......i thought the option was just
to maintain records .......also it was just a small column asking to
fill out whether 1,2 or multiple entries.Anyways i wan't to buy a
eurail pass but the problem is that it may en-route non-schengen
country during the journey which would be illegal .

anyways thanx for clearing

Avoid Switzerland.

Great Britain/Ireland is easy to avoid by rail.

Norway/Finland should be no problem.
