Is is easy to get a taxi at CDG (Paris), or are there lines? Can I
pre-order one? What is the current fare CDG -Invalides?

Why not take the Air France bus?
Taxis are fairly easy to get, the trouble is,if there
is traffic congestion you can run up a big meter
fare, whereas the uas fare is fixed regardless
of how much time it takes to get to Paris.

There are always taxis available. Whether or not there is a line
depends on a number of factors. Even with lines, it normally moves
fairly quickly, since taxis are plentiful at the airports.

We ordered a van from Paris Shuttle, and was cheaper than a taxi.

There are usually lines for official taxis outside the terminal. In
addition you may be approached by an "unofficial" taxi driver inside
the terminal. I took one once and after a while it became clear that he
didn't have the remotest clue where he was going, so after that I stuck
to the official taxis.

Depending on time of arrival, CDG is a mess
taxi horribly expensive, take the Air France bus to the Invalides or ask
evleth to pick you up in his limo

I once had an interesting ride, a dogleg that took us from the centre to
somewhere in the south of Paris, and from there to where we wanted to go
out in the West. I figured that the taxi driver drove home first,
because he didn't know to get where we were going directly.
