Correct.

Unless you are going to a place with active terrorist activity, I wouldn't
worry about it. And there aren't many cruises running to those places.

As they said on South Park

Why does a third of the world hate all Americans

Because America doesn't realize a third of the world hates them.

Skipping the Mid-East might be a good idea.
Oh, why is that? Name me the last beheaded cruiser.

Oh, since when is beheading the only issue being discussed? I thought the
recent notion that ships may become terrorist targets again was the point of
this thread. So, of course, Leon Klinghoffer came to mind.

Was Madrid a known terrorist target? Bali? Who really knows where the
next target is?

Up until yesterday when word of the death by beheading of Nick Berg suddenly
made me aware that there are people out there who really hate us, I was hot to
trot, but now I am starting to re-think my decision.

Dick, how would you feel if your land was invaded, some of your people
rounded up, and then placed into humiliating positions that some of the
prisoners in those pictures were placed in? And some of them were beaten
to death as well. The beheading of Nick Berg is within this context. War
brings out the dehumanization of people, horrible acts on both sides go
on in wars. These people don't really hate us, this is revenge. I looked
at comments on the BBC board regarding the beheading. Many people from
the Arabic language board condemned in strong terms the horrific,
harrowing, barbaric beheading of the young American worker.

Macho me wants to say that terrorism will not alter my plans, but my
responsibility as a parent has me giving the trip second thoughts.

Does anyone have any sage advice to offer me?

Do what you feel is prudent. Dangers are all around us but I try to stay
our of harm's way when possible.

You have to want to have a clue to have a clue. Many of us believe in
myths and fairy tales.

Danni and I have a cruise booked for later this year which will take us out
of
the country. It will take us to certain areas of the world which recently
have
been in the news as terrorist targets.

We have booked a cruise on the QE2 for October to Turkey and Egypt and I gave
it some thought about the same concern as you but we also decided that we will
go and enjoy.

Afew years our son and his wife went to Egypt for two weeks I said it could be
dangerous. His answer was "It is probley more dangerous when I go to Detroit on
business" I agreed

Go for it

Lou
