Default Hotel booking sites for Belgium

On a car trip I need a single nights stay somewhere in Belgium. The time
schedule is very relaxed, so I'm extremely flexible as to where in Belgium -
from the German border in the east to Gent in the west, and as far south
as Charleroi. This being a Saturday, I'm thinking it should be possible to
to get a good deal at a out-of-town business oriented hotel. Ideally with
a small old town nearby.

But so far I haven't really found anything. What is a good site to do this
search on?

I can recommend the Hotel Marion in Oostende. Actually, the hotel rooms have
been a bit neglected and look a bit tired, but that's because they have been
concentrating on the "bar area" of the hotel. In fact, what just used to be
a standard-sized hotel bar has now become a fully-fledged pub in it's own
right, with over 300 different beers, more than 50 Jenevers (gin-based
drinks) and various other stuff - it's brilliant.

There's also Virtual Tourist ..; specifically:
http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel...e-Belgium.html,
though how different to Trip Advisor I can't say.

I compared Virtual Tourist coverage of York with Trip Advisor.
The big difference is that Trip Advisor hotels have lots of highly critical
reviews where as Virtual Tourist has none.

I just compared them myself and found the same kind of thing. Also,
the map on the VT isn't much use in so far as, at least as far as I
could see, the locations are not pinpointed.
Some venues have a rating, but no reviews or explanation as to how
such grades were arrived at and the things to do look a bit set-up

Just found this whilst pruning through old bookmarks

I've checked and it's still alive.

So what was wrong with using Trip Advisor?
Too easy?
