Help Us Find a Cafe in NL
Any Dutch here, or people who know the Netherlands? We did a tour last
year and found this really amazing pancake place. Here are some pics we took.. http://imageshack.us/f/171/p1000474a.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/f/694/p1000473y.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/f/718/p1000472p.jpg/ We know it's near Rockanje 'cos we camped in a forest there and next day asked an old couple where we were and they pronounced 'Brielle'(but that was after an hour or twos driving). Anyone know where this is? |

Anyone know where this is? Hi Andy After some searching I found a cafe which sells pancakes in Rockanje. Apparently there used to be a pancake restaurant there but that was closed and all the contents were sold by auction in May this year. This place is called 't Golfie and is located at Swinsedreef 22, 3235 Rockanje, The Netherlands. If you go to Google maps and put this address into the search bar and then use street view you can see whether this is the place you remember. Can't do any better than this. Gerrit - Oz |

Gerrit - Oz Way off course, but all I can offer is that the wooded region around Oosterbeek is famous for its enormous pancakes, delicious especially al fresco! |

There are pancake places all over Holland. There is no need to search for them. For that matter there are pancakes all over the world. Why leave home? If there is a food item more ubiquitious than pancakes, I'm not sure what it is. Nevertheless, we all love to return to places where we had a good time, no? -- I do not feel obligated to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forego their use. -- Galileo |

Nevertheless, we all love to return to places where we had a good time, no? Maybe you could be adventurous and try some where else? :-) Curious you should mention that. We almost never return to the same place twice with very rare exceptions. I figure there is always something more interesting/curious/frightening/tasty/funny in another another restaurant, town or country. We call ourselves "lateral diners": If we had the greatest X of all time at a restaurant we may return, but you can be sure the one thing we won't order will be the X. Similarly it's a rule that we can't order the same thing. -- I do not feel obligated to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forego their use. -- Galileo |
