Where would you go if you could choose?

- it can be any place in the world
- it should be rather safe to go to and be there
- you take a 3-year-old kid with u
- accomodation budget : maximum 30 euro/night
- it should have a good climate in july
- mix of beach and culture (we dont need discos and big resorts)

It's asking a lot, but is there a place like this? :-))

Nice, France. Go to the Hotel des Orangers (mentioned in Lonely Planet
for France) near the railway station and halfway to the beach. With the
beach, you have Culture in the form of a first rate art musuem, opera
and the dance. I pd 33 per night for a beautiful suite at the Hotel des
Orangers with a balcony.

The French love children and even the snootiest headwaiter will make
allowances.

I was there in October and it was still warm enough to swim every day.
I suppose it is rather hot in July but there will be breezes. I
encountered no "mistral".

Place is quite staid and safe. Only Marseilles gets rough.

For best results, fly into Paris, make whoopee, and then take an
overnight train "bleu" to catch some zs and save on hotel. Your child I
think will be fascinated by the train, which provides basic bunks. You
will share a six person compartment with salt of the earth Frenchmen
and women who sleep, in my experience, the sleep of the justified dead
and do not snore.

Ive done quite a bit of traveling in my very short life! and the best
place I would say that Ive been to is New Zealand! The people are really
really nice and friendly. The climate is beautiful. The north island is
hot and steamy and the south island is cold and snowy. Its the best of
both worlds. As its very cheap especially if your from Europe. The best
things is that its not over populated.

Hope that helps.
