Default World Cruise

...Hello... Just wondering if anyone here has taken a world cruise?
...Was it too long? ...Did you tire of the same old food everyday?
...Would you do it again? I am considering taking such a cruise some
where down the road. Just curious though, as personally, I find I enjoy
the 7 day cruise the best. ...Jon

I think if I did it I'd rather do it in about 4-5 or more segments, like a
year apart for each.

Spread out the mental thing. Otherwide your brain would be in constant
overload.

I haven't done the full World Cruise but I've done legs of it ranging
from 15 days to 28 days.

I would do the full 108 days in a NY minute. I was never bored. The food
was varied and fabulous. I met wonderful people with whom I am still in
contact.

There were interesting ports of call that you don't normally get to on
shorter cruises. Special events for holidays while on board.

The full World Cruise is the first thing I'm going to do when I retire.

Joyce -- Looking forward to my 21 days on the Amsterdam next December

Wouldn't this be tough to do Tom or Linda? You would have to be
careful, or have a lot of (down) time, to make all the "ends meet" so
to speak.

You know, what a fun thing it might be, as an exercise, to see how
that would come out. I would love to do just that.

I read all the time about folks who took off a year or 18 months and
all they did was travel worldwide. On a budget that runs form $25,000
up.

It would work if...

The kids don't want to go to a school like Columbia or Swarthmore...

Or they can get scholarships...

If not...

It's 3/4 nights on Majesty when we retire.

Just my guess, but I don't think anyone who would take a complete
world cruise would be posting here.

Just my guess, though.

Why is that?

No, no, I am not talking about your or our personal limitations. I am
talking about the practical issues.

Can Tom and Linda or Chrissy and Hubby actually book a (near) around
the world cruise, on different ships/lines and pull it off? Think
about the logistical problems. Getting ships into and out of
disembarked ports. Time layovers.

Take this for instance.

Sail out of NYC to europe. Europe to Med. Med to S. Africa to India to
SEasia. to Australia to F Polynesia (no way I'm missing this). etc
etc.

Can it really be done?

NOw here is where a REAL TA would be useful.
