I am considering planning a trip to Hawaii through the AAA who uses Pleasant
Holidays. I would appreciate any information (both positive and negative)
regarding your experiences with this company.

Thanx in advance for your help.

Many years ago on our first trip to Hawaii we used Pleasant Holidays. I
would say that it was a waste. Nowadays with the internet and all kinds of
information available for airfare and hotels, there really is no need to use
them, or anyone else for that matter. You can book your own flights and
hotels.

For starters, watch out for vacation companies that have you leave at 11:55pm
and count that 5 minutes as one of the days of the package, or have you return
at 1am and count that other hour as another of the days of the package.

Pleasant Holidays is probably the oldest surviving service of its kind to
Hawaii and enjoys a very good reputation. I think it's a safe thing to say
that AAA would not align themselves with any organization that wasn't
completely on the up-and-up offering excellent services. For more information
about visiting Hawaii, you are invited to view my Hawaii webpages at:
~ http://hawaii.home.att.net/ where you'll find no pop-ups, no advertising,
no cookies and nothing for sale. KM

With all of the incredible services on the internet, it would be silly
not to use one of them to devleop your travel plans. I travel all
over the world for work and religously use Orbitz.com In my
experience they are the most reliable and easiest company to use. I
would try out this site and see what you come up with. It should
really be very simple.

I agree with you. Orbitz is a reliable place to book travel and has
worked for me and my family on a number of vacations. They also have
a lot of site services that can be handy. For example, you might want
to use their vacation packaging to book hotel and air fare for Hawaii
at the same time. Give it a shot, hope you find what you are looking
for!

If that's the same company formerly known as "Pleasant Hawaiian
Holidays", I can endorse your recommendation. I've used them and they
made good on my one complaint.

What was that? The air conditioner on the bus to the Mormon village
broke. The driver stopped and waited for another bus to come along. I
screamed at him that "we can get air conditioning anywhere but we
cannot see or do what can be seen or done at our destination anywhere
else. Let's go!"

Well, the consequence of the late arrival was missing much and I was
furious. Got a refund on that portion of the trip. All else was as
advertised and an excellent value. I would not hesitate to use them
again.

Oh and we live in Canada.

"Canada" is from 3000 to 8000 miles away from Hawaii. "Vague but
true."

From here, it's about 2400 miles and, I've heard, that there are one
week flight/hotel deals currently available for around $400. I availed
myself of such a deal about fifteen years ago for about $700 each and
was quite satisfied. We used Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays.
