Driving Williamsburg to Charleston
I would like to get some suggestions for an
interesting place to stop overnight while driving from Williamsburg, VA, to Charleston, SC. This would not be for the I95 corridor, but rather a route closer to the coast (Rte 17, possibly?). Thanks in advance for any help. |

If you have the time, go to Nags Head or other Outer Banks locations.

You might try New Bern N.C. it is on US 17. The town is right on the Neuse
river, beautiful views. There is the Historic section to town with the Governor's Palace, gardens, and other buildings. New Bern also claims to be the "home" of Pepsi. There is/was a very nice Comfort Inn just off of US 17 and on the river. Frank |
