My husband and I want to visit Newfoundland next year probably in July
or August 2009. We love the outdoors, hiking, biking, kayaking...etc.
We're planning on Journeying up to Gros Morne Park. I'd like to know
what else is around as well like towns and such to hang out in and
relax maybe get a drink, see a movie, dinner. Whats a good town near
Gros Morne Park?

Um St John's!

You haven't researched this very well have you?

AIH the second nearest town to the park, Corner Brook, is the second largest
settlement in Newfoundland. With a population of 20,000 I guess it has the
things that you seek, but it doesn't score very highly on "tourist
attractions".

This is 50 miles (or if you are Canadian and use those funny kilometre
things, 80) from Gros Morne.

St John's (arguably the only town in Newfoundland with any tourist
interest) is a day's drive away.
