What about this company? Anyone flew with it?

My last transatlantic flight on Northwest (April, AMS-IAD) was one of the
best transatlantic fights I've ever had in economy. Lots of legroom, truly
top-notch in-flight entertainment.

Sometimes it's not so great though. Depends a lot on the plane you get.
What's the flight number?

Their reputation isnt stellar, the appellation
North Worst Airlines seems apt

That said look at seat guru to give you an
idea of the seats to go for. To try this
check in early

Yes, seating in economy class is very tight. Use the above web site to get
the best possible seat.

Hi,

the thing to check is if it is even a Northwest flight...

the theoretical NW flight from Memphis to Amsterdam is actually a KLM
flight (with KLM planes, crew, food, drinks, etc) and isn't anything
like NW's international flights.

International travel in coach on Northwest is pretty unpleasant, with tight
seat pitch, inedible meals, indifferent service and poorly maintained planes
(aesthetically, not mechanically -- they're perfectly safe). With that
said, coach travel on US carriers has so deteriorated that the differences
between Northwest and other US flag carriers is, at best, incremental.

Bring along snacks and bottled water, bring your own IFE (in-flight
entertainment), try to avoid middle seats or seats near the galleys or
restrooms and do your best to sleep through the experience (this advice
applies to any US carrier).

I guess my expectations of air travel are so low these days that my recent
flights on NWA from Halifax to Seattle and back weren't all that bad. The
little Canadair jet out of Halifax was cramped as expected, but the
Detroit-Seattle legs on 757s were fine - lots of drinks, decent food,
magazines if you wanted them. No in-flight entertainment but then I wasn't
expecting any. I don't have any particular qualms about NWA.

I've flown Northwest's trans-Pacific flights a number of times. They are
bad enough in "business first," but in coach they are truly agonizing.
