# Description : The Parc Etang campsite is close enough to Paris to
enable you to go there for day trips, whether by car or by public
transport. On the other hand, it is far enough away to be in the heart
of nature, a return to the countryside after an enriching day spent
sightseeing or for a weekend of peace and quiet. The site stretches over
12 hectares. It stands next to the leisure park, and the dozens of
glorious trees provide shade for tents, caravans and mobile homes. Sun
worshippers have not been forgotten, though : the size of the site means
there is something for everybody in this beautiful natural setting. Most
of the electrified caravan pitches are separated by hedges.
# Campsite's plus points : Close to St Quentin, its station and
therefore with easy access to Paris, the site is small haven of peace,
tranquillity and nature. The nearby leisure park gives joggers a 5-mile
run around the lake to enjoy: countryside in the town.
# Station : RER "C" or train from the Gare Montparnasse, get off at
Saint Quentin en Yvelines
# Airport : Orly 20 miles
# Access by road : A12 motorway from Paris, exit St Quentin en Yvelines.
N10 follow signs to the "Centre commercial", then the "base de loisirs".
N12 follow signs to Montigny le Bretonneux then "base de loisirs".
# Surroundings : Nearby : Leisure park : golf course 2.5 miles away,
quad biking 2 miles away, swimming pool in Vagnes just over 1 mile away,
town centre, Adventure land, fishing 800 metres away.
Surrounding area : The château of Versailles 4 miles away, the Chevreuse
Valley, Thoiry, miniature France, everything can be reached by car in no
time. Of course, Paris and its innumerable sights, Eurodisney and Park
Astérix are around 1h by car.
Not to be missed : The night-time festivals, the musical fountains by
night at the château of Versailles.
