The "success" of the DC3 is due to two facts: - the wing root structure was much stronger than required. - a world war began at the point in time when it would have soon been discontinued and it's specs were close to those required for a military transport aircraft. Had Germany won WWII, the Ju52 would have been the aircraft feted. |
