St Lucia - Sandals Day Pass
I've seen a couple of nice comments about going to the Sandals in St. Lucia
in the google archives. But at the Sandals site I see they have a couple of resorts in St. Lucia. If anyone has done this - which one did you go to? Any more comments to share with us? Were towels provided there or do we need to take towels from the ship? Were their cabs waiting & available to take you back to the ship or did you have to pre-arrange a taxi? Thanks, Larry |

Thanks, Larry We went to Sandals in St. Lucia last month while on Brilliance of the Seas. You should go to the Grande Sandals - it's the better of the two. When you arrive at the port, just inside the "welcome center" there is a Sandals booth, and you reserve your day pass there. They will give you a ticket which will get you through the gate at Sandals. You can take a taxi (we had a group of 16, and took two vans). It was $5 per person, although the rate may be negotiable. Your driver will probably want to arrange to pick you up when the day is over. We agreed to this, and it worked our fine. In fact, we didn't pay him until he took us back to the ship. It also ensures you will have transportation back to the ship. When you get to Sandals, go to the front desk, show them your ticket, and they will collect $50 per person. They will take credit cards. Your day pass entitles you to all food and drinks, including liquor, all watersports (I think a couple of things weren't free, like parasailing and maybe jet skis). The only thing you don't get is a room. Pool and beach towels are furnished. The resort has multiple bars (we tried to hit them all), a nice restaurant, lots of beach and pool lounge chairs, and is a beautiful resort. For $50 per person, we felt it was a great bargain. You can see pictures of the resort at www.sandals.com, or if you go to www.cruise-addicts.com and go to the photo galleries, you will also see pictures some of our friends took while we were there. Have a great time if you go. |

St Lucia - Sandals Day Pass
When going to a resort or any remote location by taxi always arrange for
the driver to pick you up at a specified time for return to the ship. NEVER pay him until he returns you to the ship! That's insurance that you won't get stranded |

St Lucia - Sandals Day Pass
Further to my message previously posted regarding Sandals......
I've been told they now charge $100 per person for the day pass. When we were there February 1, it was $50 per person. "Norm Bassett" wrote in message ... "Larry Simon" wrote in message ... St Lucia - Sandals Day Pass
I understand that the price for the day pass was just increased by 100%.

St Lucia - Sandals Day Pass
I've read a lot of different things about the price. Including the fact
that they charge more if you pick up the ticket at the booth on the pier as opposed to just showing up at the front desk. Don't know if this is true or not. I guess I'll just call the resort and see. If it's $100 per person my mind is made up. I've also heard they charge "per couple", could be that's where the $100 came from. In any event, if the price hasn't doubled, I'm still trying to decide between Sandals and the excursion down to the beach on the Anse Chastanet property. Although I understand that the past couple of years or so they no longer go to the resort, but rather to a nearby beach on the property. I've still read real nice things about that too.
