It says the PHL-CDG arrives at 2E and the CDG-BLQ departs 2D. That sounds like a close connection to me. but with a very high chance that the luggage won't get transferred to the next flight in time. From experience I reckoned that two hours was the minimum time for luggage to get transferred. maybe things have improved in the last ten years at CDG. The luggae always arrived eventually, usually 12-24 hours later. It only needs a bit of air traffic congestion and he will miss the connection too. I was wondering who booked these connections. At least if he's booked through all the way with AF then they'll put him on the next plane, and maybe even his luggage as well. |

Until direct flights were available between A'dam and Toulouse, my employer did. I flew via Heathrow or Frankfurt or Gatwick for a while until my employer did a deal with KLM and we were obliged to fly with KLM. Maybe if the plane is late they won't wait for him. It is worth telling the cabin crew if you have a tight connection time. Once BA picked me up with a car from the apron at Gatwick and took me to a waiting connecting plane. |

I guess it all depends on the airline. LH is pretty good. I haven't done enough connecting flights with other airlines to judge. |

My experience of CDG was that lost/delayed luggage problems were airline independent. The luggage problem is an airport problem although often the airline gets the blame. KLM frequently lost more luggage than any other airline, because they are the main user of Schiphol which has an expert systems for losing luggage. The luggage handling system at Schiphol is going to be replaced soon. I don't think the current system has ever been able to cope during busy periods. |

Some years back I had an AF fight arriving at CDG and the AF connecting flight was from Orly. Air France did not offer this on the booking as a connecting flight, I had to book the legs separately. I have had the same experience. One had to collect ones checked in luggage at CDG and transfer it to Orly oneself. |
