Looking for trip reports - bottled water

Hello,

Are there any post-Aug. 10 trip reports ?
Especially about bottled water - are the airlines providing a good
supply of it on board or should I "camel up" before boarding ?

I don't know why you couldn't either:

1. Bring empty bottle(s) with you and fill at airport drinking
fountains, or

2. Buy bottled water at the airport, even from vending machines.

Anyone know any reasons not?

The way I see it, the airlines will confiscate your water and then charge
you three bucks for one of their "approved" bottles that was loaded on the
jet by squeeky clean terrorists :-)

fountains

Presumably if these are found they will be confiscated at security.

2. Buy bottled water at the airport, even from vending machines.

I don't know about every airport, but it's my understanding that water
in bottles is no longer available past security. It only comes in cups
which may not be brought onto the plane.

At Kahalui airport in Maui you could buy water in bottles after the security
screening. There was no additional screening at the gate. This was
observed both Friday and Sunday.

I just got into Reno, NV from Houston IAH on CO. All drinks are
available inside the secure area, but they are not allowed to be taken
through the gates. "Drink up before you board" After boarding, the
FA's had the drink carts out & running as soon as the plane leveled
out. They made two trips during the four hour flight. A few people
went to the rear at other times, and asked for water, soda, etc. No
problems. Everyone got what they wanted.

I flew from Gatwick on Continental this past Sunday. I usually come to
the airport 45 minutes before the flight, but this time I got scared by
news reports about huge crowds at Gatwick, and showed up like a moron

"congregating" is only forbidden in the front. Many times on a long
flight, I go to the back and "shoot the crap" with the FA's. On my
last flight, I stood in the back for over an hour, and the FA from FC
even brought me some hot cookies.
