Default HAL, Shore Excursions, book 60 days prior?

Reading over the list of shore excursions for the MS Amsterdam, SA,
February 19, 04, Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Stanley,
Ushuaia, Punta Arenas, and Puerto Montt. I find that 90% are "Highly
Recommended", and 85% have "Limited Capacity". Bookings are permitted
sixty days prior to departure.

Do any of you feel it is necessary to act promptly and book sixty days
before
the departure, without hearing the shore excursions lectures?

I realize that if there are any shore excursions, that we can't live
without, then
we better go ahead and book but can't the decision wait until we are
on board?

Your comments would be appreciated.

Definitely book these excursions ahead. After you're aboard and have
more information or hear the lecture and decide you don't want it,
simply go to the Excursion Desk and cancel. One year four of us in two
cabins signed up separately on the first day for the Dolphin Swim trip,
and only one couple got tickets because it sold out the first day due to
online reservations.

Candy -- didn't get to go
