Default Amsterdam, Eurail

Hello can anyone give me any tips on travel in Amsterdam, I will be
there for Christmas and New Years, and will be looking for people to
hang out with. I'm a male 37 yrs old from Ottawa, Canada.
I have also purchased my Eurail pass and plan on going to Paris, and
Spain.
If your in the same time frame as I drop me a line. I have not made
any hotel reservations yet, I just plan on showing up and doing
whatever. tks

Looks like a good plan: 'showing up and doing whatever.' Buy the Lonely
Planet "Europe on a Shoestring" guidebook to help.

In Amsterdam, and throughout Holland, the Nationale Strippenkaart gets
you on all public transports except the train. Also ask for a city
transit map at the bus and tram ticket office in front of the station.

If your eurail pass covers Benelux (Belgium/Luxemburg and Netherlands)
then use it where ever you can
Trams etc may require th strippencart in strips of 10 or 15.
