Sounds like reliable evidence -- from "the man who refused to give his
name" -- not. It's hard for me to believe that the poor pot-smoking
dole-bludging surfer types who flock to Bali pay A$600/oz when they get
there. Anything's possible, I suppose, but in my experience in tourist
areas of Indonesia outside of Bali, you could buy dope for much less
than that (more like A$20 for a quarter). The quality might be lower,
but then you just have to smoke more.

thus spake someone who obviously knows nothing about pot... a couple of hits
on a pinner of good bc bud will get you higher than smoking a pound of that
cambodian **** that floats around se asia and sells for a pittance...

Since the active ingredient of all marijuana is generally considered to
be the same (THC), this seems unlikely. More likely, self-described
experts or connoisseurs attribute imaginary qualities to the high of
their "high-class" brand, the way high-end drunks claim armagnac or
single-malt whiskey gives a better class of alcoholic stupor than cheap
sherry.

hey, economist... try a little experiment for us, will ya? you pour yourself
a glass of cheap vodka, a good 16 oz., and gulp it all down real quick
like... a few days later, when you're feeling better, get yourself 10
bottles of beer or so and drink them spread out over, say, 12 hours... then
see what seems likely to your ill-informed little self then...

Think "rate of intoxication" not just "level of intoxication"

Generally considered by whom? You?
It certainly did not seem that way when I used to smoke it. But a consumer
may not be the best judge on this topic

So try looking here
http://www.theage.com.au/news/Nation...950758434.html
It covers exactly this issue in relation to the Corby case, if you accept
"The Age" (respectable Melbourne newpaper) as a credible source.
Extract "While marijuana in the 1970s had THC (active ingredient) levels of
around 1 to 2 per cent, today's hydroponic marijuana often has THC levels of
15 per cent, higher than a lot of hashish."

Try a Google on the subject, there is plenty about it there, not just
related to the Corby case.
