Default Car Rental in Honolulu

We will need a car on Oahu for 4 days. Has anyone used Tradewinds U
Drive (locally owned rental)? They come in about $23/day, cheaper than
others....we arrive at the airport -- so need shuttle to pick-up place
or one that is at airport.

Most of the places that offer the $23/day rate require a certain number of
days in order to qualify for the rate and the cars are junkers. But, I'm not
sure if that's the case with Tradewinds U Drive. It would be a good idea to
phone ahead to get the particulars. Currently the municipal bus system is on
strike which has increased traffic horrendously; if the strike is still on
when you get here, bear in mind that traffic isn't usually this bad. For
more information about Oahu, you are invited to visit my Oahu webpage at:

Default Car Rental in Honolulu

I just rented one a few minutes ago from Enterprise in Honolulu. It was
about $158 total including taxes etc for 7 days. The taxes and fees
there are what's so expensive. I've been checking for months and this
is the lowest I've found.

Default Car Rental in Honolulu

We got to Honolulu every summer for 3 weeks. My wife teaches a course at
UH and we live in a condo in Waikiki. The last two times we rented a
Toyota Echo for $350 for 3 weeks. Tradewinds hjas been very nice to us.
The cars were fine - the service good.
