Not far north of the California/Oregon border is some of the finest
scenery along the US Pacific Coast:

Default Oregon Coast

I lived in Oregon for 26 years, and miss the coast and all the beauty it has
to offer!
One of my favorite places to stay was in a small 1950's style motel north of
Yachats. I don't remember the name but it is easy to spot on the ocean side
of the highway 101. Yachats is a quiet town and the beach has very few
people using it. The prices are quite reasonable and it's a great place to
go if it is relaxation you are looking for. Here is a link of the area

....which just happens to be right next door to Cape Perpetua -- a
very scenic place operated by the US Forest Service. (Click on the
