thuth about norovirus
HI....well, do you really want to know the truth about the "cruise ship
virus"? It is not food related at all. It is an awful bacteria carried by one passenger, then it spreads like wild fire. That passenger was either sick when they came onboard and/or does not wash their hands with the sanitizer provided or soap/water. I work on a cruise ship....when the medical staff says stay in your cabin for three days...even though the vomiting and diarreha has stopped...you are still contagious. It is not pleasant for the passengers..and believe me...a lot of crew members get the virus also. Do not touch doorknobs, do not use bannisters, do not shake hands, be aware if using the library books..that someone else has touched them. Always, always wash your hands. And, use the dining room for breakfast, lunch and dinner instead of the Lido deck all the time. It is a virus...not food poisoning. Chris Poulos wrote: No matter what they tell you what your getting is some kind of food poisoning. Hot food in the buffet area should be kept at 140 degrees. I have been on 12 cruises and the food in the buffet areas is luke warm at best therefore causeing bacteria to multiply. Why to you think the first thing they do is close the self service first and tell you to wash your hands. they want to put the blame somewhere. believe me its food poisoning. -- Message posted via TravelKB.com http://www.travelkb.com/Uwe/Forums.a...uises/200801/1 |
