Tom, I had just the opposite experience as you. Kinda why I'm not a
huge fan of Princess. But will (one day) give them another shot. I
think the food on Carnival was superior to Princess (Grand Princess).
I was not happy with one meal on Princess. Funny how two people can
have just the exact opposite opinion. Breakfast is not very important
to me...but I really love the fresh fruit salad on Carnival. That is
what I usually order with my morning coffee for roomservice. I have
never seen canned fruit before. Only fresh.

I agree, that makes a big difference. If it were a choice between the Carnival
Holiday, for instance or an older Princess ship, I would go with the latter. In
fact, at this point, I'd probably go with Princess, period. I've grown to like
Anytime Dining and the decor is easier on my eyes. Of course, I haven't
experienced any of the newer and larger Carnival ships yet...

Not fair, Tom. It was falling below expectations long before Carnival took it
over. When I was on the Star Princess, she was not owned by CCL and I was
disappointed in certain aspects of the food even then.

Now that's where you become narrow-minded, Tom. You base your future cruises
either on one experience on one ship or on someone else's experience on one
ship.

I've kind of even written Princess off after my wife's recent sailing.

Rick,
keep in mind food is very subjective. Things you like, Tom or I may hate and
vice versa. Everybody is different. Picking a cruise should be based on a
lot of factors including ship, cruiseline, itinerary, fod etc.

We were on the Caribbean Princess in July and found the food very good. My
son loved the pizza where Tom's son Jonathan did not. It doesn't make
anybody wrong, we just have differing taste.
