Default Bus Through Europe?

Hi all -

I'm planning on travelling throughout Europe (including Germany,
Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Romania, Turkey, Greece, Italy,
France, Ireland and the U.K.) this summer. Although I was initially
thinking of purchasing a combination of rail passes, I discovered that
you could save a lot of money (and time in some cases) by taking the
bus. Has anyone had any experience with this? Are the major cities in
these countries well-serviced? What are the conditions on board like? I
tried visiting eurolines.com but it wasn't very helpful as most of the
websites they link to weren't in English/French. Any information would
be much appreciated!

L.
