Default Oceania's specialty restaurants

We plan a cruise on this line.

Is there some strategy to ensure that we're not frustrated
regarding the reportedly wonderful specialty restaurants? I
would hate to go aboard and then discover that the times we
would most enjoy are already booked.

That sort of thing happened the last time we cruised, on HAL --
we couldn't get the seating we wanted because we acted too late.
Since Oceania's specialty restaurants are at no extra charge, I
can imagine they book quickly - but do they book in advance?

Thanks!

Hi Henry,

We have cruised twice on Oceania and as far as I know you cannot book the
Polo Grill or Toscana till you are aboard the ship.

The last time we went we went directly to the Polo Grill when we boarded and
were able to get suitable bookings in both restaurants. I think that they
have a policy of a maximum of one booking per restaurant, but sometimes you
can check later in the cruise to see if they can get you another time.

I think we ate three times in the Polo on one Trans Atlantic cruise, but
they were only half full.
