Train from Hong Kong/Shenzhen to Guillin
Has anyone taken the train from Shenzhen to Guillin?
Is it possible to buy a ticket in advance in Hong Kong? I want to go to Yuangshuo but due to motionsickness i prefer taking the train instead of sleeperbus I've read something about going to the Shenzhen border, pass it (walk) and take the nighttrain to Guilling. Anyone did this? And how much chance is there to go to the station (Shenzhen ) and get a hard or soft sleeper ticket for the train that day? (lets say 2 hours before depart) Thanks Maus -- (\__/) (O.o ) ( )~ |

Quite affordable for somebody with a first world salary. -- Alfred Molon http://www.molon.de - Photos of Asia, Africa and Europe |

Heard that it is also possible to take a train directly from Kowloon to Guillin, is this correct? Maus -- (\__/) (O.o ) ( )~ "Maus" wrote in message ... Last time I checked (fall last year), there was no such thing; instead took the train from HK to GZ (very nice express train), and in GZ was told there was an overnight train to Guilin, 10+ hours; flew instead, highly convenient indeed. |
