Vietnam + Cambodja in 4 weeks, is it worth doing it?
Planning to Fly on Hanoi, and away from Phnom-Penh. Must see in Cambodje is
Phnom-Penh (killing fields) and Angkor Wat.
In Vietnam: Hanoi, Sapa, DMZ, Halong Bay, Ho Chi Min, Mekong Delta.
Is it time enough? Or should i plan to go only to Vietnam or Cambodja?

well

you did not mention Hue..

Viet Nam is big

I jsut came back and I was there 2 weeks .. too little

from Vietnam you can fly to Cambodja and spend there about 3 or 4 days
If you spend a few days in Ankor Wat ( two is the minimum ) then one day in
Pnohm Pehn will be enough

The killing fields are a few kms away from the capital town
but a rice field would be a better road to them.
the road is really terrible.. as are all the roads in Cambodja.
Not much to see there.. a mausoleum..
a few ditches.
small fragments of rags and bones everywhere.
nothing more really.

Four weeks is ok - you don't have to visit any possible place. Focus on
what is interesting for you. It is possible to visit Vietnam in two
weeks, Cambodia in one week (PP + Angkor). That leaves you one week of
time.

Not sure if DMZ is interesting (I just skipped it). Sapa might be
interesting, but I wouldn't go there in winter.

No, but I'm sure these countries are very interesting. I'll be in Japan
in October.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuol_Sleng is even more striking than the
killing fields, and only 10 minutes from the centre of Phnom Penh.

The trip up the Mekong from the Delta to Phnom Penh takes two or three days
with plenty of sightseeing, very worthwhile. You can buy a tour in HCMC for
maybe $40 all the way. Take a slower tour; its a great slice of life.

Sianoukville in the south of Cambodia is only about 6 or 7 hours by bus from
PP, and must be one of the most laid back coastal resort towns in the world.
Koh Samui circa 1967. A great place to chill for a few days or more.

I don't know. It's tropically hot in Saigon, but as you go north and
cross Hue the weather collapses. The temperature in winter goes down to
as low as 20°C (at night even less) in December in Hanoi.

Regarding Sapa people who had been there in December told me the
temperature is a freezing 5°C (in December).
