"increases hunger when the blood sugar drops", is that like
the stomach will begin to pump digestive acids resulting in
one feeling hunger pains from an empty stomach?

Physiological hunger can be triggered by a drop in blood glucose.

is this condition actually a mental state produced as a
result of the sudden blood sugar level change?

It is physiological hunger. Howevdr, the drop in blood glucose has to
be significant and of some duration. In normal people, this generally
does not occur.

in theory it might be possible to say, a diabetic who
did not keep close enough track of their blood sugar
levels and then did not administer the proper amounts
of insulin might on occasion exhibit erratic behavior?

Yes, but diabetics are not normal.

from what I've been exposed to and able to figure out
diabetics have it rather rough. maybe someday medical
science will offer a cure and not just a means of
sustaining life.

Get stuffed!!!! There are so many, with one or two exceptions, I doubt
anyone can be sure where the post to which they reply originated. Seems
rather silly to post a long, reasoned argument when you may well be
cutting out the person to whom you/re replying, doesn't it? Or are you
as "logical" as our friend Mxsmanic?
