Default SGC2006 Questions and Rates ??

Good Morning All ......

Like the song says ..... "Everybody is Right and Nobody is Wrong".

First, the SGC Group Rates as posted on Jean's site are correct and they do
include "Port Charges" but they do not include "Government Taxes and Fees".
Those fees were recently reduced to $91.78 per person. New statements will be
going out to reflect this.

Second, the SGC rates are still lower than any rates available to the general
public. See below for an exception to this.

Third, rates shown on the Princess Web Site, the official one, do include Port
Charges but do not include Taxes.

Fourth, This exception caught me by surprise the other day and got me real
excited also and I called to lower everybodys rate. Then the kind lady slowly
explained the source of my confusion. Actually, she tried to lower the rate on
that booking and had to ask her why the computer woould not let her do it.

When you call up a sailing on their site it will ask you for your Air City. This
will then give you the best rate applicable to you, including any geographical
promotional prices. That is what happened. Princess is one of the few lines that
still does regional offers and it does cause some confusion at times.

We can all remember when Forida residents used to get huge price breaks, same
sort of thing.

As time permits I am going through each persons booking and checking to see if
there is a regional price promotion that can be taken advantage of. If so that
person is rebooked at the lower rate. No problem. No worries.

Any questions .... just give me a call or send an E-Mail .....

This is probably the logic...

When ships leave from Florida, they offer discounts to people in Florida.

When ships leave from the North East, the only reason to put ships up here
is to make more money than if the ships left from Florida... so they charge
locals here higher pricing.

Hi Sheree
I entered my Maine zip code, so maybe you will be happily surprised after
all!
Again, my apologies for causing any upheaval here. That was not my intent
at all, and I understand that sometimes you "get what you paid for" and
sometimes, especially with groups, you get much more. By shopping around we
have been able to take 3 or 4 vacations a year instead of only 2. Not all
of them are cruises, but any vacation where I am not chief cook and pot
washer is fine by me!

i don't disagree. and i went online to princess lat night to check. the
balcony cabin bc is over $300 pp more than we're paying. The 1099 is for a
cat L which i don't think we priced. make sure you've comparing apples to
apple and if you want the L i'm sure cal can get that for you group priced
less than the website.

while maine is the northeast, i'm thinking nj/ny aren't getting the special
pricign!

where in maine are you? my husband was born and raised in bangor, my fil
was born in Island Falls and we head up to millinocket almost yearly

We are in Cape Elizabeth, just south of Portland, on the coast.
Have you tried sailing out of NY or NJ yet? We took the Jewel OTS out of
Boston in October and it was such a treat to not have to fly to get to the
ship! I hope that more ships sail out of Boston soon. I know NCL does but
I was totally not impressed with them when we took them to Hawaii.

Also like everyboysmomma I am not trying to start any trouble.
I only checked one website and found the prices lower also.

All the prices on the website I checked included all the port charges
and govt taxes.
The amount you saved varied depending on the category you book.

Of course with the perks from the group it probably all evens out in the
end.
